Stop the Red Chinese

China is at war with the world. Don't let them take over Canada.

I emailed the PM and asked him to stop the Red Chinese takeover of Calgary oil giant Nexen for $15 billion. If we don't we become their puppet. This is potentially the most dangerous thing that has ever happened to Canada.

C.S. Lewis

"A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, 'darkness' on the walls of his cell."

There's nothing like a good editorial cartoon

Postmedia columnist stumbles yet again

Along with continually trolling the Twittersphere to mock those greasy little people who do not march lockstep with his Liberal hack scribblings, this person turns out some pretty puerile offerings for the ever-dwindling readership of his local newspaper.

Imagine writing a column about how those big bad Conservatives were so misleading about "European Socialism" and not mentioning Greece, Italy or Spain even once. Who's misleading?

That, my friends, is the calibre of argument you get from Dan Gardner.

Makes Jean Chretien look like William F. Buckley Jr.

Make mine John Robson and David Warren. Two excellent writers. Gardner? An adolescent Liberal with an axe to grind.

Adieu TSN990

With the news this morning that Bell is closing TSN990 and turning it into a French sports talk radio station at 690 AM the poulets have again come home to roost.

Liberal lemmings like Mitch Melnick can once again pat themselves on the back: "I have done the right thing to preserve Quebec's uniqueness." Or as CTV's Brian Wilde says "I have no problem with Quebec. None whatsoever."

Tricultural Tony Marinaro will not miss a beat as he's had 2/3 of his gig in la Francophonie for almost five years but no longer will he be speaking French on an English station at least.

English Quebec will do nothing.

I take that back - they will applaud. And smile as they slip the noose around their own necks. Complete invisibility is one step closer.

Frankie's back!

With the delightful news Canada Day that former Canadien Mighty Mouse Francis "Frankie" "Cube" "Tank" Bouillon is back in the fold, one thing appears certain: the Bergevin era will be about class, respect and tradition but it will also be about prudence with prospects - and toughness on the ice.

No more will the Smurfs be 'smited' (or smut-ed) by bullies from Boston or elsewhere.

Expect a fight, a hit, retaliation and opposition - keep your head up at all times. While I am concerned Brad Staubitz may be on the outs, Ryan White is signed and with the now nearly half a dozen tough or semi-tough players the Habs are no longer looking to appear on the View as battered wives.

And on the development front they appear certain to take their time and properly grow and teach the kids in Hamilton with Sylvain Levebvre.

But (swooning) Frankie's back. Frankie is back!
